PLEDGE

REGULAR MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The City of Post is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2025 tax year. This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 5.89% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $38.83.

CITIZENS COMMENT

 

At this time comments will be taken from citizens on any subject matter that is on the agenda.  All comments are limited to a maximum of three minutes for each speaker. As specified in the Texas Open Meetings Act, any deliberation of, or decision about a subject not included on the current meeting notice shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. Speakers shall not and are not permitted to make personal or impertinent remarks or use vulgar, profane, inflammatory, slanderous, or defamatory language.)  No action can be taken on an item not specified on the current agenda. 

OPEN REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS –

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL BE CONSIDERED AND ACTION TAKEN IF NEEDED:

1.     2nd READING OF THE ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE BUDGET

This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $66,311.47 or 6.3%, and of that amount $10,000 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year

2.     2nd READING OF THE ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE TAX RATE

The City of Post is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2025 tax year. This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 5.89% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $38.83.

3.     CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA:

·       APPROVE MINUTES FROM MEETING HELD September 4, 2025

·       APPROVE INVOICES RECEIVED AT CITY HALL FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2025 SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE COMMITTEE

4.     DISCUSS/ CONSIDER A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE SERVICES AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE SOUTH PLAINS COMMUNITY ACTION ASSOCIATION, INC TO THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF POST.

5.     DISCUSS/CONSIDER AND ADOPT A SIGNATORY RESOLUTION AUTHROIZING SIGNATORIES IN RELATION TO THE CDBG-MIT RESILIENT COMMUNITES PROGRAM.

·       Citizen Participation Plan and Grievance Procedures;

·       Excessive Force Policy;

·       Fair Housing Policy;

·       Section 504 Policy and Grievance Procedures;

·       Code of Conduct Policy

·       Section 3 economic opportunity;

·       Limited English Proficiency; and

·       Activity to affirmatively Further Fair Housing choice

6.     DISCUSS/CONSIDER AND ADOPT A CIVIL RIGHTS RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING CIVIL RIGHTS POLICIES IN REALTION TO THE CDBG-MIT RESILIENT COMMUNITES PROGRAM.

7.     DISCUSS/CONSIDER VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT POLICY

8.     DISCUSS/CONSIDER SECTION 504 SELF-EVALUATION REVIEW
