Operations
The Post landfill is the central receiving point for solid waste generated by the City of Post. The operation of the sanitary landfill is permitted by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The landfill must operate in compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Rules and Regulations, and the approved site operating plan.
Waste Types
The landfill accepts both Type I and Type IV wastes.
Type I Waste - Municipal solid waste includes: trash, garbage, plastic, cardboard
Type IV Waste - Demolition waste includes: sheet rock, wood, shingles, glass
Items too large for the dumpster must be hauled to the landfill
It is the discretion of the City of Post to accept or reject any of the materials brought to the gate of the City landfill.

Persons authorized to dispose of waste at the facility include:
Citizens and businesses in the city, with a recent water bill receipt
Citizens and businesses in the rural areas of Garza county, with proof of residency.

The fees for individual loads of waste taken to the landfill must be paid at City landfill gate:

Contractor Payments
A contractor may choose to pay the required fees either by the load, as described below, or establish an account with the City if hauling waste to the landfill on a regular basis.
Once a load has been paid for, the contractor will receive a receipt, which must be presented at the landfill gate.
If the contractor chooses to establish an account, the City will issue a permit pass that must be presented at the landfill gate. Account charges will be billed and paid through the City Hall Accounts Payable Department.

$15 per load for anything 750lbs and under
$40 per ton for anything Over 750lbs
Out of County Fees
$17.25 per load for anything 750lbs and under
$46.50 per ton for anything Over 750lbs
Tires Fees
Automobile Tires — $5 fee per tire
Truck Tires — $8 fee per tire
Large Truck Tires — $10 fee per tire
Tractor Tires — $12 fee per tire
Heavy Equipment Tires — $15 fee per tire
The City reserves the right to refuse tires that may be too large or may be unsuitable for recycling or other readily available disposal. Tires with rims are not accepted.
