A PUBLIC HEARING HELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING PUBLIC COMMENTS ON THE 2025/2026 PROPOSED CITY OF POST BUDGET. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $66,311.47 or 6.3%, and of that amount $10,000 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

A public hearing to receive public comments on the proposed tax rate for the City of Post for Tax Year 2025.

The City of Post is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2025 tax year. This tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 5.89% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $38.83.

2024 Tax Rate .660166 per $100

2025 Tax Rate .699 per $100

2024 Tax Due on Average Taxable Value Homestead $327.57

2025 Tax Due on Average Taxable Value Homestead $453.55

At this time comments will be taken from citizens on any subject matter that is on the agenda.  All comments are limited to a maximum of three minutes for each speaker. As specified in the Texas Open Meetings Act, any deliberation of, or decision about a subject not included on the current meeting notice shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. 1.     1st READING OF THE ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE BUDGET

2.     1ST READING OF THE ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE TAX RATE

3.     DISCUSS/ APPROVE TO CLOSE MAIN STREET FROM AVENUE M TO AVENUE N FOR FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH FALL FESTIVAL ON OCTOBER 31, 2025

4.     DISCUSS/APPROVE THE RECOMMENDED HOT FUNDS DISTRIBUTION FROM HOT COMMITTEE, PRESENTED BY PIXIE GRISHAM.

5.     DISCUSS AND NOMINATE BOARD MEMBERS FOR THE GARZA CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT FOR A 2-YEAR TERM.

6.     CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA:

·       APPROVE MINUTES FROM MEETING HELD AUGUST 12, 2025

·       APPROVE INVOICES RECEIVED AT CITY HALL FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2025 SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE COMMITTEE

7.     DISCUSS/REVIEW/APPROVE OR REJECT ROOF BIDS ACCEPTED FOR COMMUNITY CENTER AND CITY HALL

8.     DISCUSS/APPROVE CONTRACT WITH TX DOT AVIATION FOR RAMP GRANT

9.     DISCUSS/APPROVE BIDS FOR INSULATING MAINTENANCE BARNS AND SWIMMING POOL PUMP HOUSE

10.  EXECUTIVE SESSION- “The City Council will convene into Executive Session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.074 (Personnel Matters) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.”

·       CITY MANAGER ANNUAL REVIEW

11.  CONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION

12.  DISCUSS/APPROVE TO CONSIDER CONTRACT FOR 401(a) RETIREMENT FOR CITY MANAGER

13.  TAKE POSSIBLE ACTION OF THE EVALUATION AND CONTRACT FOR THE CITY MANAGER
